Long before becoming the beach of Dragonstone on Game of Thrones, the beach of Itzurun was on my bucket list along with the rest of the Geopark of the Basque Coast. Since I won't be being back in the Basque Country for a while, I decided to go on the Flysch Route on my own on a stormy autumn day.
Nestled between the towns of Zumaia and Deba, and about one hour bus ride away from San Sebastián, the Geopark consists in about 13km of cliffs formed in the last 65 million years.
